Analyzes human resources data and compensation structures, serving as a technical expert on HR systems to ensure data integrity, create reports, and support HR technology needs. They also research salary trends, develop competitive compensation strategies, evaluate job roles, and ensure compliance with compensation-related laws, aligning total rewards with organizational goals and performance management.
General Purpose: Address human resources information systems (HRIS) and evaluate compensation strategies, ensuring both data integrity and market competitiveness.
This role is location bound in Potsdam, NY.
HRIS Management
• Maintain HRIS data integrity through regular reviews / audits and discrepancy resolution.
• Manage system updates, configure settings, and troubleshoot user issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user guides.
• Assist with administering organization’s annual review administration and compensation programs.
Compensation Analysis
• Research market trends and salary data, benchmarking compensation against industry standards to ensure internal and external competitiveness
• Assist in developing and managing salary structures, pay ranges, and grades.
• Analyze compensation trends, conduct performance appraisals, and administer annual salary reviews.
• Assist recruiting team with job evaluation and classification to ensure fair and consistent pay across the organization.
Reporting & Analytics
• Create and analyze HR data and metrics related to compensation, demographics, turnover, and workforce planning.
• Design and generate complex reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making.
• Prepare ad hoc and regular reports for internal stakeholders and for compensation surveys.
Compliance
• Ensure compensation and HRIS practices comply with current legislation and data standards.
• Collaborate with HR and IT to implement and maintain systems that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact in HR for system-related questions, troubleshooting user issues and escalating complex problems to vendors or IT when necessary.
Education:
Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information systems, business administration, or a related field combined with experience in data management.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in human resources, business, data analytics or related field with experience working in HRIS systems and compensation analysis.
Experience:
Minimal Experience: One to three years in HR, finance, business, or IT with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
Preferred Experience: Three years or more in HR, or related field, with experience in compensation analysis, job evaluation, advance Excel, and familiarity with HRIS software.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of HRIS platforms, ERP solutions, and proficiency in Excel, Sheets, and data analysis
• Analytical and problem solving: Ability to analyze complex HR data, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to communicate complex information to various audiences
• Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and maintain data accuracy
• Business acumen: An understanding of how compensation and HRIS / technical systems support broader business objectives.
