Linux Systems Administrator - Shape the Future of  Research & Education

This role is eligible for onsite, hybrid, or remote. You must reside in one of the following states to work remotely: 

 

Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do 

As a System Administrator II at Clarkson, you'll be at the forefront of technology, supporting a  world-class STEM-focused institution. You will: 

  • Design, implement and maintain robust infrastructure solutions 
  • Automate everything that can (and should) be automated 
  • Manage both on-premise and cloud environments 
  • Work across undergraduate, graduate, and research computing environments Create innovative solutions that impact thousands of users 
  • Interface directly with the people your technology solutions serve 

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table 

The ideal candidate has: 

  • A strong Linux background (especially with RPM-based distributions) Real-world experience with automation and configuration management
  • A passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement 
  • 2-4 years of experience with a relevant degree, or 4-6 years of experience without The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
