Overview

Provides application technical support for the development, enhancement, customization and maintenance of Administrative Systems at Clarkson University. Work activities require competency in SQR, SQL scripting, PeopleSoft XML Publisher, PeopleSoft Application Engine, PeopleSoft Application Designer, PeopleCode programming language, and analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address technical issues. This is an on campus position. 

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance in coding, testing, debugging and documenting system modifications.
• Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution for program errors.
• Troubleshoots and provides problem resolution for data errors.
• Supports interfaces between systems and other internal/external systems.
• Assists with documentation or reviews documentation written by others that describes processing procedures.
• Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
• Monitors performance of programs after implementation.
• Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Administrative Computing

Qualifications

Education:

 

Minimal Qualifications:
• Associates’ degree in an IT related field or three (3) years of technical experience in application programming
• Knowledge and technical proficiency in SQL scripting, interface programming languages, applications, tools and utilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 3 years of technical experience in application programming in Higher Education in one of the following systems in version 9.1 or higher
o PeopleSoft Financials Supply Chain Management
o PeopleSoft HRMS
o PEOPLEsOFT Campus Solutions
• Knowledge and technical proficiency in PeopleSoft SQR
• Strong Proficiency in PeopleSoft Application Designer and PeopleCode a plus

 

Experience:
Minimal Experience:
• Knowledge and technical proficiency in SQL. Interface programming languages, applications, tools and utilities.
• Ability to create technical documentation and flowcharts

• Knowledge and technical proficiency in SQL scripting and programming languages

• Ability to provide staff support for business and technical projects, assignments and analysis
